For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

Slow and steady

Hi everyone, how you doing?

No embroidery today.

Shelf sorting.

Making room for my Paris haul.

In truth I have been unwell for a couple of weeks.

My embroidery is suffering due to brain fog from medication.

Hexagons are the answer to brain fog...slow and doable with an empty head.

I'm mostly pottering and can just about manage to sort these shelves.

What a task.

Don't we accumulate?

Two walks around the Zoo with two of my favourite little boys cleared the head slightly.

I'm going to the Zoo so often they will invite me to their staff Christmas party.

Take care and I'm sure normal service will be resumed shortly.

What a beautiful collection of things to use in and inspire your work! I hope you feel better soon, what a long haul these weeks have been for you.
