For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

''the use of traditional often time consuming process alludes to the devotion of a mother''. c K. A. Ruane 2007

checks and stripes

Checks and stripes or gingham and ticking? Take your pick, I don't mind whatever you call them. Another page for class and please go here for more brilliant work from the group. Puts my efforts to shame.
My cloth was delivered safely, Aunty loved it and I ate cake so a good day all told.
I have also placed a followers gadget on here...I resisted this for a long time but I have been asked for it. I am still not sure if it will stay because I can't decide if I like it or not...I know, I'm awkward, , picky, finickity ....

finickity (comparative more finickitysuperlative most finickity)
  1. Fastidious and fussy; difficult to please; exacting, especially about details; meticulous and particular.
