Pink gingham....flowers

Another pillow top is taking shape, pink gingham flowers, silk background, lots of bullion knots and a a little chain stitch. This one will hopefully have oversized funky puffs too, somewhere to stick the pins!!

There is a lot going on in the background here, all being photographed and recorded to share with you at some point. Final titivations are needed on some things but tomorrow I hope to show you a little white ''thing'' I have just finished.

As you may know I have been listing a lot of past classes as ''work on your own'' where there is no interaction with others on the private class blog and no interaction within a private forum on Flickr. I realise that a lot of people prefer to be part of an active group, a group where ideas can be shared and support is freely available as opposed to working in complete isolation. For that reason I will be ''rerunning'' some classes with new Private blogs and new Private flickr groups. All videos will be those used in the initial classes but the difference will be the access to a wider group and regular appraisal and input from me. (this does not happen with work on your own classes) (and....the price will be the same as that for the equivalent ''work on your own'' class. ....extra features....no extra charge)

If you took part in any of these classes first time round there is no need for you to register now...Video content is exactly the same as that posted in the initial run of the class.  These ''rerun'' classes are for those people who have not taken these classes in the past.

There will be more news on the first class to be posted as a ''rerun'' on Monday.

Beavering away.....

Samples, class work, gingham, lace, pink, lace cloth....it's s proper hive of activity here. I now have so many of these sheets. When class finishes in a couple of weeks I will endeavour to photograph them all for you. Aside from the finished sheets I have stacks of samples which still need to be mounted, I could soon be swamped, buried under a pile of pink. That wouldn't be a bad thing I'm sure.

Meanwhile, along with pink and lace I'm playing with hankies in the background, seeing hankies as patches and patches as pockets ready for the new class. Maybe even pockets made from patches..... a little like these....

I told you there was pink on my table. A pink smocking sample that I made to illustrate a point to the girls...Technically it's the last day of school today...technically. As usual I am not finished, I am not organised, I am basically useless. Please don't let that put you off though, we just go on until I catch up...Christmas then.

I bought myself some of these this morning, also pink. I could happily admire them for days and do nothing else except gaze....that's my weekend sorted. No seriously, my weekend will be busy, stitching of course and perhaps a little housework. A question....how good do you have to be for someone to gift you a maid?

Hey!!! I'm back. I survived...not sure about the camera woman but that's another story for further down the page....first things first, another little gift for you. Paperwork, with pink. A small piece for your shopping list or to put under that annoying, leaking plant pot. Not such good pictures today...BOO!! Sorry about that, the weather and everything..I have a lot to get through today so prepare yourselves for a lot of waffling. Sunday. Video. Where to start? Well I started with a full English in the Motorway Cafe....120 miles later I arrived at the NEC. Bonnie was delightful, so friendly and welcoming. I was terrified. My work was laid out and I talked about it piece by piece explaining inspiration, technique, fabric choices. I did a demo on how to attach cloth to paper for 'paperwork'. I did the demo again in close up. Pictures were then taken of all the pieces that had been described earlier. Before we started Bonnie had explained to me how to be aware of where the camera was. Next to the camera was a monitor showing the actual images that were being filmed, as they were being filmed. Apparently if you look at the monitor instead of the camera you look distant, distracted. Well all I can say is prepare yourself because I couldn't take my eyes of the monitor. Mesmerised I was by this weird woman talking about my work who looked exactly like me only 50 years older!! and....it will most likely have subtitles as apparently I have a very strong Northern accent which wasn't easily understood...I was speaking English honest, just in a Northern way, Yikes!! Elocution lessons then. All I can say is that I am reliably informed that it won't be available for MONTHS.(editing, lists etc) Phew, by then you should all have forgotten about it!!!

I have probably left a lot out here, not intentionally but I am still in a bit of a tizz with it all...not easy this film star life you know, especially when you don't have a stylist or a make up person and 

bags under your eyes and the dress sense of a Siberian Camel.

In other news.....I have had so many visitors from Pinterest these past few days. So many in fact that I have joined myself and am pinning pictures as if there is no tomorrow. (O.K. only around a dozen but that's a lot for me) anyway, pretty please pop over there and take a look at my efforts, I would really appreciate it.

I am taking a few days off now to recharge the batteries. It has been hectic here for a couple of weeks and I fear if I don't have a little break my work will suffer......miss you already. x

a single pink cross stitch...

A little diversion...to take my mind off the pain...(hold on tight, I am going to be milking this for days...) Despite my suffering I used pink last night. I made some tiny pink beads...only six of them but they are very cute. A single pink cross amongst white crosses...these are now in the shop....I am also working on more paper, different paper, well slightly different anyway. This one has a cut away (or perforated away) section with embroidered silk behind. It needs more work but I am getting there.

In all seriousness the arm is still sore. I have only had three horse pills so far and I know it will take time. Thanks for all the sympathy and advice and orders on what not to do I appreciate it. Please don't stop...I am loving the attention!!
