White, lace, lace cloth.

Lace, lace cloth......the white piece is the latest of three pieces. This is what we will be doing in my Workshop at Pour L'amour du Fil. We will be embellishing lace cloth, lace cloth provided by me. It will be titivated with hand embroidery and perhaps a few puffs. Progress of the slow kind is being made on the work for my new class. These pieces are being picked up and given a small amount of attention when my other white piece requires more measuring or joining and there isn't either the time or the space. So it's slow yet valuable progress and it's all progression in one way or another.

My visitors have gone, insert a sad face here...yes my little girl has gone back to London. I missed her the minute she got onto the train....and on it goes until I next see her.

Anyhow...get over yourself Karen...I now have no excuse for not stitching my fingers to the bone so it's going to be full steam ahead...

The January embroider, embellish create class is now open for registration. The kettle is on, I have tidied up, I have pressed my cloth, I have sorted through my threads, I am ready....

So many pictures for you today.....this is it, my cloth for Helen. I love it so much that I may even tell her I lost it, can't find it or that it was abducted by aliens! She is coming next week and the plan is for her to take it home then...I will miss it...

I had a day off yesterday, a complete day off with no sewing or fabric related anything. I was taken out for lunch and then to buy stuff for my upcoming holiday. Well I am the worst shopper in the world. I throw that female stereo type right out of the window. Zero interest in clothing shops makes it a real chore...throw a sack on me and I am happy so long as my modesty is covered. Fabric shops, vintage shops now they are a different story but clothes...yuk. Anyway, I got two things so I will be travelling light...I did buy two books that excite me but unfortunately I can't wear them....looks like the sacks will be coming to America with me then...you won't be able to miss me.

I have had a few latecomers to the class this week and there seems to be a lot of interest still out there. What  I am going to do is leave it here for another week or so and then close it. Coming late to the group isn't really a problem as you will have access to all the resources until December 24 but I don't want to leave it open much longer as from my point of view the admin is quite time consuming and I don't want that to run into my holiday. So it's almost last chance if you are debating with yourself.

Now I'm off to do teacher related stuff, counting apples and such and I may even hug that cloth a little bit too.....

embroider, embellish, create

I have taken the plunge. I have spent the last week working hard  creating a new blog, creating PDF sheets, making video tutorials, a new flickr group, a new facebook page. Why??? I am about to make an heirloom for my daughter, a white on white wrapping cloth. I would love you to make one with me, For yourself, for your daughter, for whomever you want. Yours doesn't have to be white although I would love it if it was ........ we can talk about that later......

It is available here, it will start on Monday 29th August. I am limiting it to 25 places. You all deserve my undivided attention for feedback, queries. I should be able to manage that with 25. I'm nervous, I'm excited, I'm itching to start....

just to clarify a couple of points that have arisen from e mail etc. This course will remain online for those who sign up indefinitely, a reference and resource to be used until their personal cloth is completed. You can work at my pace or at your own pace it is entirely up to you. I will be available for support and feedback via e-mail after the six weeks is over for any issue relating to this course. However,.....the instructional blog, flickr group etc will only be available to those who have signed up for the course, being password protected and by invitation only in respect of the flickr group.  I hope this helps answer any queries you may have.
