For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

How many one inch hexagons?

The ongoing patchwork marathon.

If this is new to you there's a post here which will update you on what I am doing with this patchwork piece.

It's definitely growing but I am resisting measuring it.

I'm just going to keep going and keep going.

I am using almost exclusively Liberty Tana lawn and there are a couple of close ups so you can see the pattern mix.

Also....it looks like a map of the world ha ha.

That isn't intentional!

Sorry I've been missing.

Illness is the culprit.

I'm hoping to be back to my super fit and healthy self soon!

Oh and feel free to count the hexagons and let me know!!
