For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

My button card.

You may remember this post.

Well my button card now has pride of place.

I can gaze at it any time I want.

You must have things you just need to gaze at every so often, or is it just me.

I bought this at a Paris flea market.

Real treasure.

(I'm so sorry if I haven't replied to comments or visited your place. I'm still battling here and am not quite 100%.  I'll hopefully be back to 'normal' soon.)

Was I ever normal?
