For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

drawing and painting...

This is how I draw and paint when there is someone behind me with a whip!! Metaphorically speaking anyway. These are from around 2004?? Not quite sure. I remember the module though and I remember being so pleased with myself when all the work came together and looked like this. I decided to put my name all over these as I have been reading of quite a few people having copyright issues lately. I know you wouldn't copy them, I trust you implicitly but you never know what kind of reprobate may stumble upon these ramblings at any time so better safe than sorry. Why would anyone want to copy this I hear some people say,, some may think it's not worthy of copying, that it's rubbish, regardless....it's my rubbish that I worked hard on.
I have also put these on my sketchbook pages if you want to look at them later, next month, next year when they find their way to the archives of my posts, it would save you trawling through everything.
Thankyou so much for all the sympathy yesterday. I am feeling a little better today. I had a very early night last night and sleep always helps doesn't it. My tissue count appears to be falling and the sneezing is now once every ten minutes as opposed to every second so that's what I call progress. I have so many people to get back to in the e-mail sense and if you are one of them I will do my best to get onto that later, maybe this evening, please forgive my stupified pace. This afternoon I am making muslin bags for my hook and eye pieces....I hope to be able to show you those tomorrow.....woooo muslin bags!! I really don't expect anybody to be as excited about that as I am...I worry about myself sometimes really I do!
Finally........I'm going in a minute honest.....can I ask those of you who won my last give away, the two pin pillows and the mini design sheet, have you got them yet??? I know one person hasn't you see so I am a bit concerned as I posted them ages ago.
Have a lovely saturday....

sewing muslin bags sounds much more fun than what I'm doing

I can see why someone would want to copy them, they would make really nice tablecloth designs or maybe place mats.

I don't blame you one bit for putting your copyright on everything. I was early by having a web site on line in 1994 that actively continues to today. I discovered many of my images were being used elsewhere without a mention of their source. That so upset me since I'm the type to credit anyone and everyone after asking permission for use. So, now I put copyright on all images and overall on what I write. Perhaps no one cares but me, but that's OK.

I have no idea what you're doing with the muslin bags so I'm looking forward to it. Continue to rest up and take care of yourself!

I am so glad you are feeling better. Sleep is a bit of a miracle.

You need to find yourself another whip again because your drawings/paintings are very, I mean VERY beautiful. A real feast for my eyes.

Hope everything turns out well with your bags and with this cold that needs to disappear.

Have a beautiful evening.

Sewing muslin bags sounds infinatly more interesting than arguing with a 3 yr old who had too long a nap about when its time to go to sleep, 7.30 or 9.30? Hope you fell better.

I love that with the whip. It's exactly how I feel when I'm forced to do something like that. And after I do them I ask myself why I don't do them all the time... Something about needle or pen...

Muslin bags are definitely better than what I've been doing lately - painting and shoveling 'stuff' out of my house and generally creating more messes than any sane woman deserves! Enjoy your muslin bags.
