For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

Guilloche stitch.

 

It's an old one today, Guilloche stitch.

Some of you may not have seen this video.....it's from 2018! 

I was so much younger then ha ha.

I think some of you will enjoy this, it's a lovely stitch.

I remember this one - it I a beautiful stitch... just thinking a modification of it might be an interesting thing for my river current stitching... was sitting beside the river yesterday. mesmerized by it's surface...
