For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

Design for a drawstring bag.

Yes, more pink gingham.

Design work for a new drawstring bag...a pink gingham drawstring bag with child themed applique.

I have woven paper and gingham here for the backgrounds of this sampling which I feel works well.

These pieces still need to be finished and I'm also piecing more samples.

The more information I have to hand when deciding on my final design the better,
