For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

A table of embroidery

 




I mentioned recently that I lost all public reference to my collection of embroidered sample books because of you know who.....(Typepad)

Insert some unladylike language here.

I also mentioned that I'd try to somehow post a little of that collection here and here we are.

I don't understand why 'you know who' didn't offer some form of ability to save all the information you (and many others) stood to lose (and did). I've read about services that you can upload a blog to and offer printed books. At least then you'd have your own record, even though the information disappeared from public view.
