For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

Two new with embroidered fabric inserts.

This collection continues to grow.

There are two new pieces with embroidered fabric inserts and a sprinkle of sequins.

There will be four of these in total, two are still in progress.

As this design exercise grows it is informing a new piece of work which will evolve in class.

Fabric and fabric paints have been ordered!

Now I'm getting impatient waiting.

ah, recycling at its best! The punchouts for winding floss onto and then serving an additional design element in the tags. Win/win!
