For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

''the use of traditional often time consuming process alludes to the devotion of a mother''. c K. A. Ruane 2007

yes...I'm here again

I'm here again...the other place isn't working....again. Yesterday.....yesterday, amongst other things I made Rouleau loops and lace cloth. The loops are for my pocket pillow, the Liberty and Broderie Anglaise one. The lace cloth is for ''stock''....I use it a lot, in ledgers, on embroidered surfaces and besides that I just like it, enjoy making it......
Who knows where I will be tomorrow? We shall see....

You can run but you can't hide - I thought you'd be here... It's like hide and seek...
I love those Liberty strips, love them. And the lace is divine.
