A quiet post for peaceful embroidery.....
For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

Peaceful, restful, serene, elegant, inspiring and a whole lot more.
Sweet, lacy hexagons..(she whispered)
Delicate and delightful!
Oh my goodness - this is amazing! I love this, with the lacey fabric. Just beautiful!
Love the lacy flowers! I spent yesterday sewing lines on cheesecloth since I can't find scrim AND digging it out of my sewing machine. I'm kind of combining the two classes and am going to put some of this on my cloth - which is still g r o w i n g. Having such fun!
Karen, this is soooo beautiful! More than beautiful!
oh so delicate and oh so beautiful. such a shame you don't need clothes up there you could make some wonderful cloths to keep your shoulders warm
It is so nice to listen to the silence as we create, isn't it. :)
[tiptoes in] lovely. very peaceful. [tiptoes out again]
I'm thinking of the song 'silence is golden', only in this case it's beautiful pristine white.
