For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

''the use of traditional often time consuming process alludes to the devotion of a mother''. c K. A. Ruane 2007

pinning.....

That's pinning not pining by the way

piningpresent participle of pine (Verb)

        Verb:
  1. Suffer a mental and physical decline, esp. because of a broken heart.

Nope, no pining going on here....I am actually getting caught up in class work at the moment...three videos to make today, two down one to go. Can't have teacher falling behind can we. This is my next piece of white, old white, vintage white all pinned , tacked and ready for embellishment or titivation whichever you prefer.....
I do have to say that I hope you are all OK. I am being very slow at responding at the moment. Apologies....I promise it's on my list for tomorrow....just remember that even if I am quiet and ''missing'' I still think of you and am always so very grateful for your support.

i have different pins for different situations. just acquired some wonderful small pins from a friend that don't seem to be sold anymore. i guess it's out with the old, in with the new, but the old is sometimes better.

I am also greatful for your friendship Karen. All is well here I have just been concentrating my time on sewing and working. I have also been evaluating the blogging. I am so impressed at your ability to do all of it and teach classes too. I seem to add one thing and it seems to through me off. Oh and I am now president of our quilt guild (very scary for me). Thanks for checking in on me. I still read your posts but have not been commenting much either. You are doing some amazing things and continue to inspire! Thanks and have a great day!

I seriously doubt that you would ever have time to pine, which is a good thing for us! Even your pins are elegant.
