For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

in love with my pocket....

I am so very much in love with this pocket of mine. I still have quite a large area of white cotton to embellish and hope to do that tonight whist I watch TV with my feet up! I have added to the left side....some cross stitch and more French knots. This is going to be displayed in my bedroom, consequently every time I go in  there I can't sleep as I am constantly scanning the room for the best place to put it! I think it will be displayed in a simple way, a little clip perhaps and hanging from a drawer knob or maybe the wardrobe door handles (which aren't really like handles, more like little ''pulls'')? I really can't decide. When it's finished I will have to play with it, try it out.
I have had a few latecomers to the button class. I am going to stop calling anyone who signs up from now on a latecomer. As it's all available until the end of next march I guess you are not a latecomer unless you arrive on March 29!!! So if you want to make beautiful, wonderful and gorgeous buttons like the brilliantly creative girls who are beavering away already then just pop over here. Again I really want to big them up, I am so proud of them all that I would love it if you went and had a look at their work and maybe even leave them a nice comment. You can see their gorgeous work here.
Also, don't forget the STITCHED project,
I have come to the conclusion that adding links gives me a headache...bouncing it is. There is not a chance that it's the disco I have been having since my speakers were fixed!! Robbie would never give me a headache......

It's charming. And I'm glad to know that your speakers are fixed - and have you been dancing around the studio?

I love your pocket too. But, I'm not exactly sure what part is the pocket, or why you call this a pocket. Curious minds want to know....

But what I really love is your "shop". Oh my goodness. What inspiration and beauty. A true feast for the eyes.
