I have finished the commission I was working on. Hopefully Bev (the client) will be happy with this when she gets it. She wanted this piece to commemorate the moment when she discovered she was going to be a grandmother for the first time. A truly momentous occasion in anyones book, this one however had a rather unusual element.....she was told at ten minutes to midnight on New Years Eve last...by text message! I agree that she couldn't let that pass without some form of momento, so here it is, it reads 'I'm pregnant mum', with the time and date added.

If anyone else has such an occasion they would also like noted for posterity and future generations don't hesitate to ask!
I have been really busy this weekend. I have my interview coming up on wednesday for which I really need to study. I also have to check my work, see if anything needs re-mounting, sort out what I am going to wear, as my wardrobe is almost 99% black there isn't much deliberation needed on colour, just style, (there isn't much of that to work with either!) but I am sure something will need to be washed and ironed. Yesterday I took my son to Leeds where he has been at university for the last three years to collect all his things from his accomodation there, that all needs sorting out and putting away. Since the lack of any storage space in this house is down to me taking over every room that is going to have to be my task. I am also working on something new which is really exciting me. Every time I start a new project it consumes me and I resent anything that gets in the way of me doing it, so perhaps I should have waited until after my interview. But... I didn't, so I hope to make progress with that inbetween my studying and tell you more about it next time.
