It feels like I haven't posted for eons but infact it's only three days. I think I get the guilts if I don't post every other day, or every day because when I check my stats and see all of you looking I think you will get bored if there is nothing new here and maybe not come back. Don't think for one minute that I am sat with my feet up, drinking gin and watching daytime t.v....I wish! Believe it or not I am still trying to return to some sense of normality after christmas, how can one day cause so much chaos in a two up two down tiny house.....answers please?
Me and his dad drove James back to university in Leeds today, that emptied the house of one holdall, one guitar, one laptop, numerous bags of christmas presents, ditto groceries, one suit, one football manager coat (that's my name for his new overcoat, if only he had the earning power of a football manager!) several pairs of shoes, trainers and one 6 foot tall son. That means I can be organised now. No such luck, all the decorations still need to come down. In between all that I have managed a TINY amount of embroidery. I have started on my cutwork hexagons using the vintage tablecloth I bought from the hospice shop in Harrogate, look here is the proof, I did warn you that my cloths take an age to make. I just hope you don't grow a beard waiting for the finished piece.
For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

When did all this happen! I was gone for a little while and now that I came back your blog was filled with so much loveliness that I'm almost speechless.
I'm getting over my after Christmas dizziness. It really is strange how much fuss one day can cause. The highlight of my day was going to the city all on my own and deciding what I want to cook today for myself. No more Christmas food, and no more pasta. This weekend is my weekend! It's like having a party alone :)
I'll get back to you, hopefully very soon, to do "the interview".
Happy New Year Karen!
