For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

Oh those are both lovely. I had the chance to get a fancy machine a while ago, but opted for a top line, non computerised machine. cost was a factor, and so was need. I just can't see me needing to work more embroidery or quilting than I'd be wanting to do by hand.
I have my mother's old machine. Mid way between your 2. It has forward and backwards, no zig zag, and a funky attachement for button holes.
I do all my embroidery by hand but feel applying the text to the fabric takes so long it would be time and cost effective to consider doing that part by machine. It's not going to happen anyway.....they cost a fortune!
Ah to dream. You could write off some of the cost to business, perhaps?
