I have been really busy this past couple of days. The free trial for my website is running out and now they want paying....well as I am yet to make any kind of break even money on my work I don't feel I can justify that yet.
I then started to wonder how I could set up a free online shop, having tried etsy before and not sold anything and having a technologically incompetent brain, the best I could come up with was a new blog, dedicated to selling. So I have been sorting out the shop, you can find it here or from the link on the right.
I really would appreciate your thoughts on it and would welcome any ideas on other ways of setting up a free website. I am sure I will ammend and adapt this space as I go along as I am certain to have forgotten something or left out that vital piece of information.

I think it might be worth you giving Etsy another try- I'm happy with having it just potter along not doing very much just because it's easy to add to and takes care of the payment side of things. I know that the more I post on Etsy the more I sell, but I still haven't ever sold much. Its worth while to have it up and running as a back up while you work out what to do as the fees are so small to list things that you really won't have lost much if it doesn't sell- like 10p per item. Also on your shop blog it would be good if you had a way for people to pay- like a paypal button on each listing maybe? I can probably help you a little bit with things like that- but i'm no expert on websites i'm afraid!
well, i would go with etsy too a bit more but it takes alot of advertising to help the process... i have found that having a sale day helps... example: i blogged about my sale day for a month showing tidbits of what i was gonna have that day... and i used flickr to show more photos too... so on that day, i put up all the stuff [i kept them in the editing section] up at midngiht and sold a ton of stuff that day... i did this several times and it was always a success... plus lis garrett [i can email you the link] advertises for only $5 for 3mos... another good way to just get out there... it does take some work and networking... i really dont know about the website as i am just a rook in that area too... also, they have paypal widgets [you can use in blogger]... either way, i wish you the best and if you have any questions on this rambling comment, let me know :) i will be happy to help in any way!!!
