For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

Today I went for a little peek at the christmas stock that is creeping into our shops. I do honestly think we are begining to see it too early but on a cloudy sunday if you are in need of a change of scenery it's as good a place as any to pass a little time. Well I'm afraid I was too tempted!! I came home from NEXT with presents for two of the tiniest members of our family, but they are so cute I couldn't resist. The hat is for my cousins little girl and the belts for my great nephew!!! I can assure you though that I am not as old as that makes me sound!!!
