For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

here, there and back again

Scrap the first paragraph below.....they went down as soon as I'd written it. This post is copied and pasted from over there......it's official. I've had enough.

I'm staying put today, placing all my faith in Typepad...that they won't go AWOL, that they won't let me down. I can't be doing with this back and forth, I don't know whether I'm coming or going, staying or leaving. One thing I have learn't.....a nomadic life style isn't for me.
Last night I titivated a tiny scrap of cloth to fit in one of these gapswhilst I was at it I added something to a ledger page, just because I could.
This morning I had plans to make a video for my girls in ''4'' before I leave them and flounce off to London next week......ha, some hope. Every obstacle imaginable was placed in the way of that little plan. Never fear....I always have the weekend. I will banish everyone to the far reaches of the house, demand solitude and quiet.

Hi Karen,
I was able to see and read your post on Typepad this morning but when I clicked on the comment section nothing happened. Decided to come here and leave a comment. Your work is wonderful as usual!

You must be positively dizzy with all this to-ing and fro-ing. I hope they sort themselves out, pronto!
