For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

''the use of traditional often time consuming process alludes to the devotion of a mother''. c K. A. Ruane 2007

saturday.....

Outside it's raining, it's cold. There is white stuff, there is slush, there is ice. Inside............
This is my dining room chair. Inside I am warm, cosy, surrounded by cloth, making a mess. The house all to myself I am pressing cloth, measuring, cutting, putting a piece of ''white'' together.
Happiness is.......

Yes, happiness would indeed be some cosy solitude! May I join, I promise not to chat, I could even keep the kettle boiling and the biscuits coming? Your Christmas shopping looks divine- most important to treat ones self too, I quite agree. x

Happiness is....

the house to yourself, a needle in your hand, a cup of tea ready to sip and some music to delight your ears.

Enjoy yourself!!!!

What bliss...you sound so happy passing the time with cloth and thread.
I just want to come over and pick up those gorgeous quilts and take in every details.
