For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

Sampling seems to be the only thing I do at the moment, not a finished piece in sight. Well actually that isn't strictly true, I have one finished piece but can't put it on here as it's winging it's way to Santa!! I do actually love sampling though, you end up with lots of little stitched pieces and they are so valuable as a reference for the future. Whilst I stitch I am always getting more and more ideas.........................not enough hours in the day! I hope you like what I have been working on today! xx
