For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

Helen and Richard moved to their first proper home together in Winchester on friday. I am so excited for them and hope its the start of a very happy time for my daughter. I have arranged for them to get some flowers tommorrow as a suprise so I was very relieved when I spoke to her earlier and she said the internet isn't installed yet. That means I can show you here what I ordered for them. Gerbera, my favourites and theirs too I hope! They should be delivered as shown here, in these lovely cube pots, fingers crossed!
