For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

Wow, more than two posts in one day! Had to tell you about this book. I absolutely adore it and can't put it down. I have put up some images for you to drool over but I could fill hundreds of pages with them, every time I look I see something else I am amazed by. You really must at least get it from a library. The Art of Embroidery. Francoise Tellier-Loumagne. Go on, treat yourself!

I am looking through some of your back posts. I have not embroidered for years and want to make a cuff or bracelet really. So I am letting your beautiful art inspire me. Are you still loving this book. Are there others you would suggest? I hope this finds you well.
