For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

I do hope I am not boring you with all this ledger stuff. In truth I don't have much else to show for my time at the moment. I have been trying to take pictures of some embroidery on white silk today but as we seem to live in perpetual darkness at the moment things aren't quite working out on the photographing white front. There is embroidery though, bullion knots specifically and lots of them...... now I just have to move house, somewhere in the Southern hemisphere should do it. Meantime you will just have to look at my colouring!

Very pretty colouring it is, too. I. on the other hand, have daylight but am living on a building site...

Rest assured, we're not bored! Rather enjoying your colouring, too!

Distinct lack of daylight here too - you'd never know it was summer! This work is lovely.

I'm sure they'll be many takers on coming with you from the UK to the southern hemisphere at the moment Karen!

Hot and humid here with plenty of sunshine. You are not boring me in the slightest, just making me jealous as it is sooooo long since I have done anything like that.

Oh - is this what we'll be doing next? Looks like it will be fun....I refuse to look ahead until I complete what I'm working on at present or I'll end up haring off in all sorts of directions and not learning a thing.

Never ever boring, I love to look at your ledgers, they're an inspiration and an art form in themselves.
