For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

petals and patchwork....

Work is continuing on my white cloth, the latest additions being a tiny piece of patchwork and some cutwork petals with lace. There is still a long way to go, probably two more sections to piece, surface embroidery to apply, rouleau loops to create.....I am talking myself into list writing here........If you want to check out how the girls are doing then just have a look here. You will be impressed I promise.
I had a lovely birthday too. Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes. I must have been a good girl because I got lots of beautiful gifts and was taken out to eat...twice!!!
My birthday passing is also a reminder that May is nearly over...yikes!!! Where's my newsletter???? It's a plan...this weekend...promise.

Ever thought of making lampshades from your cloths, they would look fabulous with the light shining through them.
