For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

''the use of traditional often time consuming process alludes to the devotion of a mother''. c K. A. Ruane 2007

finishing.....

This piece is nearly finished, the end of this week if all goes to plan. This is the second piece of two....do you remember? They will fit together perfectly....I hope.
I am trying to rest my eye...it aches a little if I spend too much time on the computer...I have a lot of computer related stuff to do but in between I am pottering. Pottering is good, I like it.

Sea foam! Just like the frothy the edges of the waves as they hiss up the beach - fabulous!

Pottering is good, especially when you need to rest. Copious cups of the hot beverage of choice is highly recommended too. Please take care of you.
