For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

I'm confused.....

yes I know....it doesn't take much. It's Mothers day here on Sunday and I have been asked if there is anything special I would like....a dose of organisation would be top of the list...failing that an able assistant would suffice. I couldn't remember if you had seen these pictures...I have so many pictures, some for public viewing, some for public viewing once the girls have seen them. I have concluded after searching this online rambling forum of mine that you have seen certain pictures of this work but not these...actual....pictures. Please correct me if I am wrong......I have lost a very important picture too...remember the book image? I have been asked to provide an image with a higher resolution...no problem...if you can find the   %!**^?!  image in the first place....take some more I hear you cry, well yes that's what I thought too. Easy? Don't you believe it...the work is now in a sketchbook that I gave to my little girl who now lives in London....never fear...Helen assures me it is now in the capable hands of Royal Mail....we wait with baited breath. I am off to stalk the post man....

That was like me yesterday, I lost a book with lots of notes taken from a book that I needed to read for my work. Hubby found it for me, but he only just beat me to the place where they were. Having said that it is usually hubby that finds all the things I lose.

loving seeing your images over and over again so no problem if it's been shown before. if it wasn't for the search feature on my blog, i'd never find the images i'm looking for.

It doesn't matter if I've seen it before or not~~~it is always a thrill to see any of your work more than once.

So what did you decide for Mother's day? I think I would ask for doing absolutely nothing, and not putting a guilt trip on myself!

How can it be Mother's Day. Talk about confused. I thought Mother's day was in May world wide. What a shock! Ha!

I could look at them every day, so don't ever worry about reposting them

A PA is what you need for Mothers day and all the other days of the year!!!!

Luckily an addict gets never enough of your pictures.

Good luck on your hunt! I have lost more things in my life than I have ever possessed, I think. Someday I will get organized but, unfortunately, not today. Happy Mother's Day when it arrives! And these pics are truly beautiful.

a thought, the photo you need in higher resolution... if you have it on line in low resolution, you should be able to drag it onto your computer and see what the file name is. Then you can put that file name on your computers search and let the computer find it for you. Does that make sense? I have this situation more often than i would like to admit.

Hey Karen, as I was reading your name tonight as I opened your blog, I wondered- how do you pronounce your last name? Is it like "Rain" or "Rawn" or "Roo-ahn"?
