For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

so far......

my cloth, or should I say my mums cloth. Margaret Elizabeth this is for you, your patterned handkerchief lining a pocket....
I am almost there. I am also sampling for the new class, more information on that soon I promise. It's just that I have so many ideas for Extending Embellishment that I can't stop sampling. There is scrim to bleach then scrim to stitch. There is paper to titivate and then all these things need to be brought together cohesively. I think it's a case of the last 24 hours will be the easiest but the thought of it is worse than the doing of it.
Meantime if you have  a hankering to see how clever the current group are then you can look here or here...

That is gonna be an amazing piece for your mom. Liked the picture with the Hedebo ring, that gave me an idea for my jeans.

Enjoy your weekend.
