For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

plans....

I am not going to say too much about this work...it's all part of the 2012 master plan and in it's infancy. I suppose it could be called sampling.....basically it's buttons and shells placed in cloth in the manner of shisha. I can 't tell you any more or I would have to kill you......so secret and embryonic is my plan.
You do have to be nice to me today though...it's my Wedding Anniversary. He who pays for my holidays bought me flowers and is taking me out for a meal tonight.....at the moment he is at the Football...hence my pc activity.
There is a new page at the top too all about the 'embroider, embellish, create class'. Please have a look just to make my efforts worthwhile. There is no pressure to sign up, you won't be ambushed by someone with a clipboard or anything....
That's all for today I think, more sampling to do along with a little smug grinning as I have ALL my presents wrapped!

Well, I have all my presents purchased, and just one remaining to finish making......the wrap is here, somewhere.....lol
I like the hints of color peeking through those little embroidered 'windows'.
Happy Anniversary, and enjoy your meal out.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

Keeping secrets?!? Don't know if I can agree with that my dear Karen. You know me nosey as always but I like what I see so far. Maybe I need to play some detective, lol.

Enjoy your dinner!!!!

She sews shisha shells by the sea shore. Sorry, couldn't resist! Happy Anniversary and wishing you many more years of wedded bliss. Off to check out your other page, don't want you to have to fly over here with clip board in hand! Have a wonderful weekend.

Many congratulations to you and 'he who carries the cheque book'. I shall only peep at your shisha work for fear of sudden and hideous death......peep.....

I am very interested in this "master plan" of yours! Has me looking forward to the new year. I have finished the presents I made for this Christmas and sort of feel lost. I have several things I could work on, but just cannot get myself in the right mood. Thanks for peaking my interests.
