For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

sorry......

I know, I know...it's like puff central round here but hey...what's a girl to do if current projects demand puffs? I had to share this, couldn't control myself you see. I got so excited putting these on Helens cloth last night. You are seeing only a tiny corner, got to show the girls first first but I'm thinking it will be OK with them showing this minuscule, positively microscopic piece of my work. They will get the whole thing later this week and then you will get it too. Truth be told I have yet to make enough puffs. I know you won't believe me, that it appears they are coming out of every pore but trust me...they aren't. I will do my best to spare you though and find something interesting to show you instead...how many puffs can one reader take?
This is on my mind....I am planning to work some more on it...and yes, sorry again but it does need puffs! OOps!!
Finally, finally, I'm going to stop rambling any minute now, today cannot pass without a final mention for Karen's Embroidery School which is now officially GLOBAL!! WOO!!

I love the addition of the puffs! I am anxiously awaiting the whole piece. All is well today but I am working too much, not on sewing. :-( Have a great week Karen and congratulations on your global class!

now that I'm looking closer, I see the puffs are on the edge...they look so good as a cluster.
