For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

pins

It's been a funny kind of day today without much progress on anything. I spent the morning waiting in for an engineer to sort out my internet problems and normally waiting in would be a good thing but it was difficult to photograph, make video, measure and cut out as all those things take place in the room  I knew he would need to disrupt. Then when he arrived he was here for over an hour so it was pottering without any measurable results around the rest of the house. I did manage to pin another completed section to my cloth but as for measuring the next piece...not a chance. So here we are at the busiest time of day domesticity wise and I haven't really done anything. Not anything that counts anyway. Never mind, there is always tomorrow.....tomorrow is video day and measuring out for my cloth day....fingers crossed I don't encounter any hiccups.....If you would like to see some ''old'' work and here my delightful (ha) voice then you could always pop over here....

I have a feeling that being a domestic goddess will overtake the embroidery for me tomorrow, why do boys always want feeding!
Have the internet woes been solved?

Hope the internet is sorted now for you. Love the video, although maybe a little more light? Or is that just my computer?

Sorry to hear there's still internet trouble (we : poor slaves)
I enjoyed your video! And yes, to be honest: in some way I didn't expect your voice to be like that: deep, warm, rumbling (no offence), probably because of all the light, white fabric ??? I don't know ...
But: enjoyed it !
Whish you well with the internet
