For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

white cloth and white beads.....

Happy Tuesday everyone! Do you know something...I don't think I have ever been so busy...yet I am really happy!! I am loving the excitement around those who have already signed up for my course. I enjoy mailing the introduction mail with more information. I enjoy placing the addresses in my special mailing contacts folder. I adore sorting through my fabric before filming a technique. This morning I have sent out all the 'things you may need' e-mails...it is really gathering momentum now and lots of places have been taken already so if you want to sit and embroider with me then please do! You don't even have to bring me an apple!! I am very low maintenance. There is more information here, and you can sign up here.
Those of you who aren't coming on the course shouldn't worry though. I won't forget you or neglect you. You don't get rid of me that easy!! I will still be here regularly, waffling away with inane senseless gibberish and posting pictures of embroidery and such stuff. Today's pictures are from last nights efforts...working in white. Sigh...I love working in white...little beads with lace inserts and some cutwork.....heaven!

Hi Karen,

I am so excited for you and your new enterprise adventure. :) I'm sure it will go well. If I were home more I would surely become a student. I just can't keep My Honey to sit still long enough to wash out the coffee pot around here. In a couple of weeks we will return to the ship (for ten weeks) and I'll only have an Internet connection with enough band width for more than emails on Sundays. *sigh*

I'll be watching and cheering you on from afar!

Huge hugs,
Lois

Like others, it would be hard for me to attend and follow but I will be cheering on those who do!

So good to hear that you are in heaven! Your hoop looks like mine, maybe they are twins, haha.

Enjoy the preparations and despite I'm not participating I am not forgetting about you either since you love to read my nonsense too. (haha)

Glad to hear that we won't be neglected - even thought I am so totally envious of the lucky ones taking your class. Wish I was either three people OR there were 48 hours in every day!!

I have clicked on that class link more times than I care to admit. I think that class would be wonderful but, with 2 in college the funds are not available. I will be cheering you on! Maybe the next time you have a class I will have more fun money! I am sure the class will be fun with all those yummy fabrics and stitching!
