For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

demo....

Just a couple of images for you today...I had to come though, can't keep away! This is the piece I am preparing for my demonstration. I need two of these, as in two potential finished pieces, both the same, identical. Presumably in case I mess one of them up which is highly likely. I am even beginning too think that I will lose the power to speak at some point through sheer terror. Anyhow, I have two of these almost ready, I am working my way through the list of things 'to do' in a steady fashion. I can't say I'm nearly there but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel....
Tonight I am going to finish the tiny silk piece, embroider it onto paper and show you in the morning. Then I will be almost there!!

terror, panic...not necessary. you will only be sitting and talking with one person. it will be fabulous.

Don't fear because the interview is recorded and not live. Therefore they can edit and cut out the pieces where you stumble or whatever you think you did wrong.
My advice, just try to enjoy it as much as possible. Remember, you are about to gain an enormous amount of experience!!!!

I have just spent some time with your blog and would like to compliment you on your work with paper and silk.
This kind of work is very fresh and innovative, yet reaches back to something we all recognize and feel longing for.
Congratulations on your success in the articles, interviews, videos, demos...but especially on your work.

It is a while since I have had time to visit and you have done so much. So beautiful.
Nice to think someone can be organized. I never am.

Remember to relax and slow down. Most people get much too wound up and then speak too fast, You want to share something with the viewer, so make sure they can keep up!
