For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

???

I changed the top....what do you think?????

right, here's what's happening. Apart from the fact that I am having a nightmare!!! I wanted a different image at the top. All I did was remove the image and replace it with one the same size. It came out like this. Now some of you don't like it I have been tweaking...I AM NOT SUITED TO TWEAKING WITH TECHNICAL STUFF.  sewing is what I do....why do I never learn. Now it's all gone wrong, I'm having a breakdown. I need help. Please........

O.K. half an hour later....is that better???

Love the new look : )

Lovely though the photo is, I think it is a bit large as you have to scroll down quite a way before finding the text. Personally I think banner size is best.

that's the default size....wouldn't have a clue how to change it and I have looked.

i love the content but would prefer it stretched out to banner size.

It's a great photo, but it covers the first screen-and-a-bit for me, and I prefer to see what you have to say about your current work, rather than just a photo of the work you've already done!

ah, poor thing! this stuff is not much fun, unless we figure it out and are happy with the results. I wish they would tell us how to size our photo to make it fit right. I wish my blog header when all the way across the top. The image you chose is wonderful!

Now you know why my blog very rarely gets changed! I'm totally terrified of the possibilities for screw ups. Personally, though, I like your new look.

You can't just go around changing things, it's disturbing, I don't know where I am!! But I love the work in the photo

I really enjoy your site. I like the new image at the top. I have often found inspiration at your site. Thank you for all the work you are doing.

It's looking like a square on the top right on my screen as of now. I love the image and your work. Perhaps you could think of filling in the white space on the right with writing your name/blog name on the right or by adding an (narrower) image next to this to fill it up?

Capitalize the first letters in your name. You deserve it. (I know it's a style thing, but still. Stand up for yourself. And don't look at my signature.) Can you change the color of the type?
I think overall it's nice.
Is that pleated muslin attached to paper? How do you keep everything so clean? And unruffled? Sigh.

It's a beautiful photo and shows up the detail really well. If you wanted to make it a banner you can do this in photoshop by cropping and then changing image size, but I'm not sure if you'd retain the quality of the photo.

Well, I prefer the header type across the top rather than the "square" photo I am seeing. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how to "correct" it. I had to fiddle with mine and am not sure how I finally accomplished it. Best of luck for success. It is a lovely image of your exquisite work.

Love it - smart, minimalist, asymmetric, contemporary. Spot on.

Love it, but it should be central to the screen rather than tucked away to the left with a big gap of nowt on t'other side. (See I'm practicing my Lancastrian for my trip up your way next week)

I agree with Carol... clean, crisp, and lovely, just like the work that you do. It's perfect as far as I'm concerned!

I had the same problem when I changed my header Karen but I was able to make it smaller but for the life of me I can't remember how.
Not much help am I.
