For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

distracted.....

I am celebrating finishing my article.....well if they like it that is, could get it back in a few hours with big red lines through swathes of it! You would think I would get back to my discs...well that was the plan. However, a little distraction came my way and here it is. I had an idea, don't get many of them, not good ones anyway! This is the start of something I hope will be liked a lot, no...loved a lot. Time will tell. There is still a little way to go but hold on to your hats for a big reveal soon.

yumm! I'm loving it, may have to go and buy ice creams after school with the kids now! So funny how a piece of cloth and some threads can make you feel so strongly about one thing. Weather you intended that effect or not you did something very right this time round!

That is looking very pretty... your stitches are always so neat yet so expressive at the same time. I really admire that.

Really like the look of this - delicately coloured, but still pale and interesting!

it makes me think of those little square mint candies in pink, mint green, yellow and white. Very fresh.
