For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

toe wrap two...

Well howdy doody!! I'm back from my travels, safe and sound with a big box of chocolates and a home made cake! worth the trip for the goodies don't you think? Consequently there has been very little activity with a needle going on, none at all infact. So.. deprived of new stitching to show you I formulated a cunning plan.....pin together toe wrap two and show the possibilities of how this is going to look when it's finished. What do you think? I know that technically this is cheating, getting you here under false pretences but I can be quite devious when I put my mind to it. Mind you, the fact that I illustrate said deviousness for you so openly in black and white kind of means I'm not really that good at it.
There may have been a lack of needle activity but there has been a positively humungous amount of this going on. Printing, cutting, wrapping, posting...I can now announce that NOBODY will be waiting for a book much longer! Thay have now ALL been given to the nice postman and are winging their way as we speak...phew!
Tonight I hope there will be a lot of embroidery going on in my little corner. Tommorow you will not be cheated having to look at old stuff. For the rest of today I have to write, plan, sort out pictures. Remember I said I had a guest post coming up? Well it it's due a week on saturday, over here, a great platform for me so I don't want to mess it up. Therefore I am planning, yes planning like I have never planned before.
and...I am so excited....there is something very exciting happening soon. Can't really say too much more but can't keep my mouth shut either.....  when I heard I had to go and lie down in a darkened room.

Not the only one cheating on photos, did you notice I used some old photos :o). Glad you had a good trip and if you ever feel the need to pass on any goodies then do feel free. I do like that toe wrap, definitely looking summery.
