For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

''the use of traditional often time consuming process alludes to the devotion of a mother''. c K. A. Ruane 2007

tiny...

Embroidery......it may become a thing of the past!! I am considering moving over into confectionary, what with all the lollipop comments and as for frogs....well, least said about that the better.....also apparently, according to some on facebook, I am a songwriter on the quiet, do my talents have no end!! I HAVE to mention too that if you are waiting for a little book please bear with me...If you requested one from last friday onward it should be in the mail by wednesday. I honestly had no idea how they would take off and I am happy about that but ink?? I'm keeping epson in business...so I need to print, cut pages, stitch spines, all alongside lollipop making and songwriting.
Todays offerings are more little pieces for sketchbooks, sew, print, suck a lollipop all at once. It's hectic here!! I won't be here tomorrow. I am going off in a huff because people keep comparing my work to frogs......no, really I am going ''up north'', relative visiting. Will you miss me?

Of course we will miss you! Just don't forsake songwriting for embroidery while you're away - that would be horrible.
