For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

the edge....in progress

I'm almost there.....added puffs to the body of my toe wrap last night and had enougth left to partly do one edge. I'm not deliberately dragging out the final reveal I just don't want to show you the whole thing until it's completely finished. Then there's the light...not a very good forecast so if it is finished by tomorrow the light may not be good enough to do it justice. I will have to wait and see on that one, the sun may appear for just long enough to get good pics.. sleeping with fingers and toes crossed tonight for me then...

More puffs are already made, burning ther midnight oil I was...and I even managed to go out for a meal...impressed??? and no, I didn't take them with me..tempted as I was.
Now it's time for a little grovelling and a lot of thanks...get the grovelling over with first...see at the top right of this page of insane ramblings, there's a little button to follow me on networked blogs. I have followers already but such a teeny weeny number that it's embarassing so please click, how hard is a click??? pretty please.......
and the thanks, well  that's for the popularity of my little book...printer going again as we speak, who'd have thought it? Gobsmacked is what I am ...

I'm holding my fingers crossed too because I can hardly wait to see the toe-wrap in its full glory.

Good to hear that the printer is still working hard.

Have a perfect saturday since the storm is going fiercely, you have to stay inside.

Looking forward to seeing the unveiling. So, now that you'll soon have 2 toe wraps, are you planning to join them together for 1 large wrap, or have each one in different rooms?

Love the little puffs - they look delightful!

Weather's miserable here too. I may have to devise a bad-weather embroidery project where the light levels aren't too critical1

Oh my goodness, I can't believe how long it's been since I had a proper catch-up on what you've been up to! I am really looking forward to seeing that toe cloth?! I really love the way you consider your edges- and now see the attention you pay to seams too- wow!! xx

Hi! I'm so glad to be in a port where I can check in to see what you're doing. So pretty. Yes, I'm tempted to take my knitting and/or crocheting with me when I go out, too. :) How can we sit out somewhere with out hands doing nothing????

Lovely work and congrats on the book.

Hugs,
Lois
