For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

two down, three to go...

Yes....two days in a row, please don't faint! Thing is I am so time pressured this week, well actually I always seem to be time pressured. (do I? or am I imagining it?) Maybe I need a time management course or maybe I just need to go and live in a cave somewhere with no distractions. Anyway, I beavered away yesterday and finished two of the three and now have to finish the third and start the fourth and fifth. Get it? I hope so. These are now in the shop as instructed by newsletter, feature and e-mail. Bombarded with those too, must answer some today.

I particularly love the white one, it is so ''refined''?'' classy''? or ''hideous''? you decide...not that I don't like the other one it's just that white is my thing, like you didn't know that already!!
Tomorrow my niece arrives from Sweden, I am going to collect her, she will stay with me tomorrow night, (now let's see, how good is she at embroidery I wonder, I could put her to work) and then I will take her to grandmas on thursday, hence my upside down week. Friday I am off to the Knitting and Stitching show so don't pop round without ringing first because I don't know when I will be in!! I do hope though that number three is finished by thursday and that number four and five have started!!

I like the white one too. I will be at the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate on Friday. Will you have a stand or are you just going for the shopping?

Very, very pretty. And, your niece will be wise to learn as much as she can from you while she is there! ;)

Definitely classy. Too good to lay your head on and get that dandruff on it.
I hope your niece at least appreciates embroidery if she doesn't do it herself. Maybe she'll ask you to teach her...

The idea of doing exquisite embroidery like yours in a cave makes me giggle. :) Actually, I've always wanted to live in a cave -- year-round temperature, natural surroundings. :) Simplify life, eh?

Have fun at the show! And do hope you will share the news you pick up there.

:) Linda

I just popped in and AGAIN I've been sitting here on my lazy popo droooooooling over your work!
If i'm not careful I'll end up dropping my quilting and start embroidering.
You tempt me, woman!

Ohh... your work is so so girly and feminine and just sooo wonderful!
I'm a fan. So absolutely *S*
