For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

more white anyone?

White again, hope you don't mind! This is the second cushion front that is now finished. It occured to me yesterday that I don't really have anything to back the white ones with, woops!! I will have to get on to that next week. I haven't been doing much sewing really the last couple of days, more sorting out and getting ready for the wedding. I'm just happy that it isn't one of my two getting married, a cousin is stressful enough! I bought confetti yesterday, I love confetti it's so pretty and delicate. Anyway, I digress.....back to the embroidery. I wasn't sure about this one for a while but as it grew and the embellishment got heavier I came round and I love it now.

Whilst I was sorting out I found these two, lurking at the bottom of my ''precious'' box. They had been in the shop before, I took them out for a fair and forgot to put them back, I'm so dumb sometimes. They are now back where they belong though, phew!

I also have to mention, someone asked me to reserve a purse for them, which I did, they haven't been back to get it though and I, dim again, have lost any means of contacting them so if it was you can you let me know if you still want it. It's not a problem if you don't but I would like to know so I can take it off reserved if I need to, ta ! I hope I have been in touch with everyone who was waiting for a response but if I missed anyone I'm really sorry. It will be next week now because I'm off to a wedding, (as if you didn't know, probably sick of hearing about it) have a lovely weekend!! x

Are you wearing boots to the wedding :) If you think eight pairs of shoes is a lot, wait till you see the rest of the collection! This white stuff is gorgeous, as always. Be warned - if confetti gets wet it can stain white stuff. Enjoy the wedding :)

I hope the wedding if a lot of fun. I haven't seen confetti thrown around here in years. Actually, the thing to do is have the wedding and reception at the same place so maybe that's the reason - all indoors.

Have a lovely time at the wedding. It's a shame that sometimes confetti isn't allowed to be used, there's always someone to spoil the fun!!!!

Have a happy wedding!
Ha - confetti. That's it. That's what your work often reminds me of - a wedding day, a white dress with little pieces of confetti over it like a shower of joy and happiness for a new future.

I am disappointed that you bought confetti..I expected at least hand cut if not hand embroidered. Or you could have used all the holes you cut out..if you know what I mean.
