For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

Quickie!

Just a quick one today. In view of the appalling state of the pound I have revised prices in the shop. For those of you in North America this will mean HUGE savings, whilst I receive the same amount, your dollar buys more of our failing currency I believe! I have a feeling it also applies to the Euro? I think? Anyway, for example, a wrapping cloth now costs up to $150 dollars less, wow! So pop over there and maybe get yourself some of these. Back on wednesday with an update on swaddling band two, be happy!

I love all of your work! I would love to learn how to do this! Where would I look for contemporary designs?

Wow- that's a crazy saving! Shame i'm over here in the same boat as you, I guess we had it pretty good for a long time and perhaps it's time for us to get out of the habit of thinking everything in dollars is half price!

Happy new year by the way!
