For centuries women have used cloth as a tool of comfort and as an expression of beauty within their homes. Creating cloth for warmth, cloth for shelter, our female predecessors embellished these linens with hand stitch using laborious and time consuming techniques thereby enhancing the functional beauty of objects which enveloped and protected their families. Inspired by these women I hope my creations pay tribute to and recognise the devotion expressed in cloth by our female ancestors .

Festive!!

As you can see my christmas cards , at the moment, consist of greetings from Sweden and nowhere else! One from the lovely Gunnel, the other from my brother and his family. I think the tree looks great though, shame its not a very good picture and I have decapitated my angel!!

I was supposed to go to Leeds today for some christmas shopping and to see James and his band Heartstring perform tonight. (James is my son, at University in Leeds) Anyway, events and my cold have conspired against me so I am now going on monday. Not one to be beaten however I decided to put my tree up, and my lovely card holder.

Its all getting really festive around here!! I am really excited about christmas already allthough having a stinking cold is putting a bit of a dampner ( I'm sure thats a word. Is it a word? the spelling looks wrong) on things. Getting these little birds off Jill cheered me up anyway.
